Where our data comes from
Every figure on this site can be traced back to one of these.
Scryfall
Cards, sets, printings, images, rulings, legalities, artists and the daily retail figures come from the Scryfall bulk data files. Scryfall is a community project and the reference the whole game uses. We import its bulk files on a schedule rather than hammering its API.
MTGJSON
Sealed products, preconstructed decks and their contents, plus the price history that fills the charts, come from MTGJSON. It is the only source that knows what is inside a booster box or a commander deck.
DB-IP
Our own visitor counts use the free DB-IP country database to turn an address into a country and nothing finer. Nothing about it is shown on the site; it only tells us which countries our readers are in.
How often it refreshes
- Cards, sets and printings: daily, and again whenever a new set is announced or previewed.
- Retail figures: daily, stored as a snapshot per printing so the history stays honest.
- Sealed and precon data: weekly.
- Currency rates: daily, and a converted figure is always labelled approximate.
What a price on this site means
A figure from Scryfall or MTGJSON is what a card sold for through a large retailer on that date, not a valuation and not an offer. When merchants open, their own prices are shown as what that seller asks today, with the seller named.

MagicGuru is unofficial Fan Content permitted under the Fan Content Policy. It is not approved or endorsed by Wizards of the Coast. Portions of the materials used are property of Wizards of the Coast. Card images are used under that policy; set symbols and the game name belong to their owners.
